    OT is a form of therapy for those recuperating from physical or
    mental illness that encourages rehabilitation through the performance of activities required
    in daily life. Occupational therapy practitioners enable people of all ages to live life to its
    fullest by helping them promote health, and prevent—or live better with—injury, illness, or
    disability.

    Occupational therapy services typically include an individualized evaluation and
    interdisciplinary plan of care to meet specified goals.

    INTERVENTIONS MAY INCLUDE:

    ADL re-training through: Training of adaptive equipment and strategies to overcome task barriers, including:

    • Fine and gross motor coordination
    • Cardiovascular conditioning
    • Urinary incontinence
    • Low vision
    • Homemaking tasks
    • Wheelchair assessments
    • Energy conservation techniques/strategies
    • ROM and upper extremity strengthening through home exercise programs
    • Medication management
    • Transfer training
    • Lymphedema management
    • Cognitive treatments
